Advantages of Autoplaying YouTube Videos

Before I move towards the short tutorial, first let me tell you some advantages of automatically playing YouTube videos. Not only your website will benefit from this feature but also your YouTube channel.

1. Increased visit duration: If you autoplay YouTube videos on your website, they might catch attention of the visitors and if visitors find it interesting they will watch it till the end. This way if a video is 5 minutes long, the time spent on your site will also be equal to 5 minutes. As a result, your website's overall ranking will improve.

2. More video views: While most people visit YouTube to watch certain videos, your video will not popup at the first position every single time. This means that by embedding your YouTube video on your website, you're increasing its potential to get discovered by interested viewers. So for example if 100,000 visitors visit your website and you have a 10% watch rate, you will get 10,000 video views on YouTube. Isn't that amazing?

3. Higher video rank: With more people watching your YouTube videos, your overall ranking might also improve. Embedding a YouTube video is in any case a win-win situation. Your website's rank improves when the visit duration is longer and your YouTube ranking improves when you get additional views from an external source.

Step 1: Visit YouTube.com and select the video that you want to autoplay on your website. Open up this video in a new tab and just below the video you will see a share button. Click on this share button and a number of sub-options will appear. From that list, select embed video and copy the full source code. After that open up any editor and paste the code over there. I recommend you to use MS Word or an HTML editor if you have one.

Step 2: The second step is very important as this will turn on the autoplay option. The code that you copied in step 1 will look something like this:

“<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/[Video ID]” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>”

Now in order to autoplay your YouTube video you must add ?autoplay=1 just in front of the video ID so your code looks something like this:

“<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=” https://www.youtube.com/embed/[Video ID]?&autoplay=1″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

Your step 2 has been completed with this addition and now you're ready to move to step 3.

Step 3: The final step is to copy this edited code and place it in your website where you want the video to appear. Publish it and visit your website from a browser. Refresh the page 2-3 times and see how this magically works!
